AN ACT

Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the duration of protective orders and approved consent agreements.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. Section 6108(d) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

§ 6108. Relief.

(d) Duration and amendment of order or agreement.--A protection order or approved consent agreement shall be for a fixed period of time not to exceed [one year] 18 months . The court may amend its order or agreement at any time upon subsequent petition filed by either party.

Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
