780 CMR 51.00: MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTIAL CODE (Amendments to the 2021 International Residential Code)

CHAPTER R7 – WALL COVERINGS Add subsection R702.3.5.2 Ceiling Attachment – as follows: R702.3.5.2 Ceiling Attachment. Only designs or methods that use mechanical fasteners in accordance with Table R702.3.5 shall be used for attaching gypsum board to ceilings in buildings governed by 780 CMR 51.00 including manufactured buildings. Alternative designs, such as using adhesive only, are not permitted.
