16.01 Purpose, Scope and Applicability

16.01: Purpose, Scope and Applicability 540 CMR 16.00 is adopted by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles pursuant to M.G.L. c. 140, § 58 and c. 90, §§ 7N¼ and 31 to establish the minimum requirements for a repair facility which a Class 2 motor vehicle dealer must maintain or have access to in order to make motor vehicle repairs under warranty.

16.02 Specifications for Repair Facilities

16.02: Specifications for Repair Facilities A sufficient repair facility shall include: (1) an enclosed repair area ten feet longer and five feet wider than the largest vehicle to be repaired, which is maintained in a clean and neat manner and used only for the repair of motor vehicles. (2) those tools and equipment, in proper working order, that are necessary for the adequate repair and maintenance of a motor vehicle.
