RE:  Modification of NYRL 840710/840711 issued May 17, 1989

Dear Mr. Goldberg:

     On May 17, 1989, a classification ruling was issued (NYRL
840710/840711) which stated that the rate of duty applicable to a
motif strip, style no. 2221, is 7 percent ad valorem.  Upon
further review, that percentage is determined to be in error.

     Pursuant to 19 CFR 177.9(d), NYRL 840710/840711 is modified
in the following respect.  The rate of duty applicable to style
no. 2221 is 8.4 percent ad valorem, in accordance with Chapter 58
Additional U.S. Note 1, HTSUSA.

     NYRL 840710/840711 is modified accordingly pursuant to 19
CFR Section 177.9(d).
