Chapter 240-X-1 ORGANIZATION AND FUNCTION

Ala. Admin. Code r. 240-X-1-.01 Organization And Function

(1) The Alabama Department of Corrections is headed by and under the independent direction, supervision and control of the Commissioner of Corrections, who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Governor.

(2) The Commissioner is vested with the authority to carry out and enforce the provisions of Title 14, Code of Ala. 1975, and to promulgate rules and regulations not inconsistent with Title 14.

(3) The public may obtain information or make submission or requests by contacting the Commissioner, Alabama Department of Corrections, P.O. Box 301501, Montgomery, Alabama 36130.
