Court of Appeals, State of Michigan
ORDER
MELISSA BROWN V BRANDON WALSH
Docket No. 379586
LC No. 2025-000082-CD
Michelle M. Rick
Presiding Judge
Thomas C. Cameron
Kristina Robinson Garrett
Judges
The motion for immediate consideration is GRANTED.
The motion to waive requirement of written order as to trial court’s February 20, 2026
ruling is DENIED.
To the extent defendants seek leave to appeal the trial court’s February 20, 2026 ruling, the
application for leave to appeal is DISMISSED for lack of jurisdiction. Because the trial court has not yet
entered an order that effectuates the February 20, 2026 ruling, the application is premature. MCR 7.203(B)
and 7.205(A).
To the extent defendants seek leave to appeal the February 19, 2026 order, the application
for leave to appeal is DISMISSED as moot. Because the trial court held an in camera hearing at which it
reviewed the withheld documents, an event has occurred that renders it impossible for the Court to grant
relief from the order. B P 7 v Bureau of State Lottery, 231 Mich App 356, 359; 586 NW2d 117 (1998).
The motion to stay effect of the February 19, 2026 order and February 20, 2026 ruling and
the motion to waive the order and transcript requirements of MCR 7.209(A)(3) are DISMISSED.
