Issue Date: 15 October 2026
CASE NO.: 2022-SOX-00028
OSHA NO.: 9-3290-21-703
In the Matter of:
AMY VAN,
Complainant,
v.
J.P. MORGAN CHASE & CO. and
J.P. MORGAN SECURITIES LLC,
Respondents.
ORDER GRANTING MOTION FOR SEVEN-DAY EXTENSION OF TIME
On September 29, 2026, Respondents J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and J.P. Morgan
Securities, LLC (collectively "Respondents") filed a Motion for Summary Decision
pursuant to 29 C.F.R. § 18.72. Under 29 C.F.R. § 18.33(d)(1), and computed in
accordance with 29 C.F.R. § 18.4(a), Complainant's response was due on October 13,
2026.
On October 6, 2026, Complainant Amy Van ("Complainant") filed an unopposed
Motion for Seven-Day Extension of Time ("Motion for Extension") moving, pursuant
to 29 C.F.R. § 18.32(b), for an extension of her deadline to file an opposition to the
Motion for Summary Decision, together with a cross-motion for summary decision,
in light of counsel's travel outside the United States during the response period.
Because the Motion for Extension was filed before the October 13, 2026 deadline,
the good-cause standard of 29 C.F.R. § 18.32(b)(1) governs, and no showing of
excusable neglect under 29 C.F.R. § 18.32(b)(2) is required.
Therein, Complainant states that Respondents do not object to an extension to
October 20, 2026, on the condition that Complainant agree to an equivalent
extension should I permit Respondents to file a reply thereto. Complainant has so
agreed.

ORDER
Having considered the unopposed Motion for Extension, and finding good cause
shown under 29 C.F.R. § 18.32(b)(1), and consistent with my authority to regulate
the course of this proceeding under 29 C.F.R. § 18.12(b)(5), IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED that Complainant shall file her opposition to Respondents' Motion for
Summary Decision, together with her cross-motion for summary decision, on or
before October 20, 2026; and it is further
ORDERED that, in the event I permit Respondents to file a reply brief, any
deadline thereto be extended by seven (7) days.
SO ORDERED.
