The appellant withdrew the appeal by letter of 1996-07-05. The Planning and Territorial Court therefore found that the case had become moot and ordered the appeal struck from the docket. It further decided that no court fees or expenses would be charged.
Withdrawal of an appeal renders the proceedings moot; in such a situation the court strikes the case from the roll. Where the dispute has lost its object following withdrawal, no fees or costs are levied, absent a specific basis to do otherwise.
