Omnilex summary

The appellant challenged the St. Gallen Insurance Court's refusal of supplementary benefits to AHV/IV. The Federal Supreme Court held that the appeal did not satisfy the minimum requirements of Art. 42 BGG because it contained neither a sufficient prayer nor an intelligible argument showing any violation of law or incorrect factual findings. In simplified procedure, the Court therefore declined to enter into the appeal. It also waived court costs.

Omnilex headnote

Art. 42 Abs. 1 und 2 BGG; Art. 97 Abs. 1 BGG; Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG; an appeal must contain a prayer for relief and a reasoned submission showing, in concise form, how the challenged decision violates law. Mere dissatisfaction with the outcome or unparticularized criticism of the facts is insufficient. If these minimum requirements are not met, the Federal Supreme Court does not enter into the appeal in simplified procedure. Art. 66 Abs. 1 second sentence BGG permits waiver of court costs in such circumstances.

Nach Einsicht
in die Beschwerde vom 19. Mai 2010 (Poststempel) gegen den Entscheid des Versicherungsgerichts des Kantons St. Gallen vom 31. März 2010,

in Erwägung,
