l'ordonnance du 14 mai 2012 par laquelle la Cour de céans a rejeté la demande d'assistance judiciaire en raison de l'absence de chances de succès du recours et imparti un délai de 14 jours, courant dès réception de l'ordonnance, pour verser une avance de frais de 500 fr.,
l'ordonnance du 14 juin 2012 par laquelle un délai supplémentaire échéant le 25 juin 2012 a été imparti à G.________ pour verser l'avance de frais, avec l'avertissement qu'à défaut, le recours serait déclaré irrecevable,
considérant:
que le recourant n'a pas versé l'avance de frais dans le délai supplémentaire imparti,
que le recours doit être déclaré irrecevable, conformément à l'art. 62 al. 3 LTF et selon la procédure simplifiée de l'art. 108 al. 1 let. a et al. 2 LTF,
que vu les circonstances, il y a lieu de renoncer à percevoir des frais judiciaires (art. 66 al. 1, 2ème phrase, LTF),

par ces motifs, le Juge unique prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties, au Tribunal cantonal du canton du Valais, Cour des assurances sociales, et à l'Office fédéral des assurances sociales.
