Considérant:
que sous pli posté le 30 avril 2007, N.________ a interjeté un recours en matière de droit public et un recours constitutionnel subsidiaire à l'encontre du jugement rendu le 1er mars 2007 par le Tribunal cantonal des assurances sociales de la République et canton de Genève dans la cause l'opposant à l'Office cantonal des personnes âgées;
qu'il a formulé à cette occasion une demande tendant à la dispense d'avancer les frais de la procédure et à la désignation d'un avocat d'office;
que par décision du 28 juin 2007, le Président de la Ire Cour de droit social du Tribunal fédéral a rejeté la requête d'assistance judiciaire et invité le recourant à verser une avance de frais conformément à l'ordonnance jointe à ladite décision;
que par lettre du 31 août 2007, N.________ a déclaré retirer son recours;
qu'il sied dès lors de radier sans frais la cause du rôle (art. 66 al. 2 LTF),
par ces motifs, vu l'art. 32 al. 2 LTF, le Juge instructeur ordonne:

La cause 8C_202/2007 est rayée du rôle ensuite de retrait du recours.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais de justice.
3.
