Das Bundesgericht zieht in Erwägung:

X.________ liess ihre Hündin nicht innert Frist durch einen Mikrochip kennzeichnen. Das Obergericht des Kantons Zürich büsste sie im Berufungsverfahren mit Urteil vom 19. März 2009 wegen Übertretung des Tierseuchengesetzes mit Fr. 320.-- bzw. einer Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe von drei Tagen.

X.________ wendet sich mit Beschwerde in Strafsachen ans Bundesgericht und beantragt sinngemäss einen Freispruch.

Die Beschwerdeführerin macht vor Bundesgericht wie schon vor der Vorinstanz geltend, das Kennzeichnen eines Hundes durch einen Mikrochip sei gesundheitsschädlich.

Die Vorinstanz stellt dazu fest, in einem Bericht des kantonalen Veterinäramtes sei eingeräumt worden, dass eine leichte örtliche Veränderung des Mikrochips im Körper des Hundes nicht ausgeschlossen werden könne. Eine solche örtliche Veränderung habe indessen keine negativen gesundheitlichen Folgen (angefochtener Entscheid S. 6). Was an dieser Schlussfolgerung einer fachkundigen Stelle unrichtig sein könnte, ist der Beschwerde nicht zu entnehmen. Selbst Tierschutzorganisationen halten den Mikrochip denn auch für völlig ungefährlich (www.tierschutz.ch). Der Umstand, dass die englische Regierung davon absah, kriminellen Personen einen Mikrochip einpflanzen zu lassen (Beilage zur Beschwerde), vermag daran nichts zu ändern. Folglich hätte die Beschwerdeführerin die Hündin chippen lassen müssen. Da sie sich weigerte, verletzt der angefochtene Schuldspruch das schweizerische Recht im Sinne von Art. 95 BGG nicht.

Die Beschwerde ist im Verfahren nach Art. 109 BGG abzuweisen.

Die Gerichtskosten sind der Beschwerdeführerin aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG). Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege ist in Anwendung von Art. 64 BGG abzuweisen, weil die Rechtsbegehren aussichtslos erschienen. Der finanziellen Lage der Beschwerdeführerin ist durch eine herabgesetzte Gerichtsgebühr Rechnung zu tragen (Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG).

Demnach erkennt das Bundesgericht:

Die Beschwerde wird abgewiesen.

Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wird abgewiesen.

3.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.

4.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, II. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
