ricorso sussidiario in materia costituzionale contro la sentenza emanata il 15 febbraio 2011 dalla Camera
di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.
Considerando:
che, nell'ambito della procedura di rigetto provvisorio dell'opposizione incoata da A.________ contro B.________, la Camera di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino ha, in data 15 febbraio 2011, dichiarato inammissibile un reclamo di A.________ - per mancata traduzione in italiano del gravame entro il termine assegnato - contro la sentenza emanata l'11 gennaio 2011 dal Pretore del Distretto di Lugano;
che con ricorso sussidiario in materia costituzionale del 22 marzo 2011 A.________ è insorto al Tribunale federale chiedendo l'annullamento della sentenza cantonale;
che con decreto 23 marzo 2011 il ricorrente è stato invano invitato a versare un anticipo spese di fr. 1'000.--;
che con decreto 12 aprile 2011 è stato concesso al ricorrente un termine suppletorio di dieci giorni dalla ricezione del decreto per provvedere al versamento del predetto anticipo spese;
che l'atto giudiziario contenente l'appena menzionato decreto è stato notificato al ricorrente il 15 aprile 2011;
che il 17 maggio 2011 la Cassa del Tribunale federale ha constatato che il richiesto anticipo spese non è stato pagato né accreditato sul suo conto postale e che non le è pervenuto alcun avviso di addebito di un conto bancario o postale;
che in queste circostanze il Tribunale federale non può entrare nel merito del ricorso (art. 48 cpv. 4 e art. 62 cpv. 3 LTF);
che inoltre il gravame, consegnato alla posta in data 22 marzo 2011, sarebbe pure stato inammissibile siccome tardivo;
che infatti la sentenza impugnata è stata notificata in data 18 febbraio 2011 ed il termine di ricorso di trenta giorni (art. 100 cpv. 1 LTF) è iniziato a decorrere il giorno dopo (art. 44 cpv. 1 LTF) ed è scaduto lunedì 21 marzo 2011 (art. 45 cpv. 1 LTF);
che pertanto il ricorso si rivela manifestamente inammissibile e può essere deciso nella procedura semplificata dei combinati art. 117 e art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. a LTF;
che le spese giudiziarie seguono la soccombenza (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);
per questi motivi, la Giudice presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.
2.
Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 300.-- sono poste a carico del ricorrente.
3.
Comunicazione alle parti e alla Camera di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.
