In Erwägung,
dass das Regionalgericht Oberland mit Entscheid vom 23. Juni 2011 die Beschwerdeführer dazu verurteilte, dem Beschwerdegegner den Betrag von Fr. 4'500.-- nebst Zins zu 5 % seit 1. Mai 2010 zuzüglich Betreibungskosten von Fr. 82.-- zu bezahlen;
dass das Obergericht des Kantons Bern mit Entscheid vom 19. Dezember 2011 die von den Beschwerdeführern gegen den Entscheid des Regionalgerichts eingelegte Beschwerde abwies;
dass die Beschwerdeführer dem Bundesgericht am 19. Januar 2012 eine Eingabe einreichten, aus der sich ergibt, dass sie den Entscheid des Obergerichts mit subsidiärer Verfassungsbeschwerde anfechten wollen;
dass mit einer subsidiären Verfassungsbeschwerde ausschliesslich die Verletzung von verfassungsmässigen Rechten gerügt werden kann (Art. 116 BGG);
dass in der Beschwerdeschrift dargelegt werden muss, welche verfassungsmässigen Rechte durch das kantonale Gericht verletzt worden sind, und solche Rügen in Auseinandersetzung mit den Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheides präzise zu begründen sind (Art. 42 Abs. 2 und Art. 106 Abs. 2 in Verbindung mit Art. 117 BGG; BGE 134 V 138 E. 2.1 S. 143; 133 III 439 E. 3.2 S. 444 mit Hinweis);
dass die Begründung in der Beschwerdeschrift selbst enthalten sein muss, weshalb blosse Verweise auf andere Schriftstücke unbeachtlich sind (BGE 131 III 384 E. 2.3 S. 387 f.);
dass sich die Beschwerdeführer in ihrer Eingabe zwar in allgemeiner Weise auf Art. 8, 9 und 30 BV berufen, dabei jedoch nicht unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheids im Einzelnen dartun, inwiefern die Vorinstanz die entsprechenden Verfassungsnormen verletzt haben soll;
dass somit auf die Beschwerde mangels hinreichender Begründung nicht einzutreten ist (Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG);
dass die Kosten des bundesgerichtlichen Verfahrens dem Verfahrensausgang entsprechend den Beschwerdeführern unter solidarischer Haftbarkeit aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 5 BGG);
erkennt die Präsidentin:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden den Beschwerdeführern (unter solidarischer Haftbarkeit und intern zu gleichen Teilen) auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Bern, Zivilabteilung, 2. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
