Vu le recours interjeté le 5 octobre 2009 par X.________ contre l'arrêt de la Chambre des recours du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud du 13 mai 2009 dans la cause précitée.
Vu l'ordonnance du 8 octobre 2009 invitant le recourant à verser jusqu'au 23 octobre 2009 une avance de frais de 4'000 fr., délai prolongé sur demande du recourant jusqu'au 7 décembre 2009, et l'ordonnance du 14 décembre 2009 fixant en application de l'art. 62 al. 3 LTF un délai supplémentaire jusqu'au 15 janvier 2010.
Que l'avance de frais requise n'a pas été effectuée dans les délais impartis.
Que le recours est dès lors irrecevable faute d'avance de frais (art. 62 al. 3 LTF).
Que les frais judiciaires sont à mettre à la charge du recourant
(art. 66 al 1 et 3 LTF).
par ces motifs, vu l'art. 108 al. 1 let. a LTF, la Présidente prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.

Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 500 fr., sont mis à la charge du recourant.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et à la Chambre des recours du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud.
