ricorso contro la sentenza emanata il 1° settembre 2011 dalla Corte dei reclami penali del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.

Considerando:
che con decisione del 15 luglio 2011 il Procuratore pubblico del Cantone Ticino ha respinto la richiesta di A.________ di nominargli un difensore d'ufficio nell'ambito di un procedimento penale aperto nei suoi confronti per entrata e soggiorno illegale in Svizzera giusta l'art. 115 cpv. 1 LStr (RS 142.20);

che con giudizio del 1° settembre 2011, la Corte dei reclami penali del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino (CRP), stabilito che si trattava di un caso bagatella, ha respinto il reclamo;

che avverso questo giudizio A.________ presenta un ricorso al Tribunale federale, chiedendo in particolare di annullarlo, di nominare un avvocato d'ufficio e di concedergli il gratuito patrocinio;
che non sono state chieste osservazioni;
che secondo l'art. 42 LTF, il ricorso deve contenere le conclusioni, i motivi e l'indicazione dei mezzi di prova (cpv. 1) e dev'essere motivato in modo sufficiente, spiegando nei motivi perché e in che misura l'atto impugnato viola il diritto (cpv. 2; DTF 136 I 49 consid. 1.4.1; 133 II 249 consid. 1.4);
che in concreto queste esigenze di motivazione sono manifestamente disattese, visto che il ricorrente non si confronta del tutto con i motivi posti a fondamento del giudizio impugnato;
che l'art. 42 cpv. 2 LTF esige infatti che il ricorrente si confronti almeno concisamente con i considerandi del giudizio impugnato, ricordato che ciò non è il caso quando la motivazione del ricorso al Tribunale federale è identica a quella già presentata nella procedura cantonale (DTF 134 II 244 consid. 2.1-2.3);
che egli si limita ad esporre la sua situazione personale e i motivi del suo soggiorno illegale, ma non si confronta con l'argomentazione della CRP, che ha in concreto ravvisato un caso bagatella ed ha quindi negato la necessità di un difensore d'ufficio in applicazione dell'art. 132 CPP;

che, pertanto, il ricorso, manifestamente non motivato in modo sufficiente, può essere deciso sulla base della procedura semplificata dell'art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. b LTF;
che la richiesta del gratuito patrocinio non può essere accolta essendo il gravame privo di probabilità di successo (art. 64 cpv. 1 LTF);
che tuttavia, considerata la situazione finanziaria del ricorrente, si può rinunciare a prelevare le spese giudiziarie (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);

per questi motivi, il Presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.

2.
Non si prelevano spese giudiziarie.

3.
Comunicazione al ricorrente, al Ministero pubblico e alla Corte dei reclami penali del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.
