Omnilex summary

The Federal Supreme Court dismissed a complaint against the denial of release from custody because the appellant only criticized the decision in general terms and did not substantiate, as required, why it was unlawful or unconstitutional. The Court therefore did not enter into the matter in simplified proceedings. It also waived court costs.

Omnilex headnote

Art. 42 Abs. 2 and Art. 106 Abs. 2 BGG; requirements for reasoning of a complaint before the Federal Supreme Court; a merely general critique of the challenged decision is insufficient. The appellant must specifically address the reasoning of the lower decision and demonstrate, in a substantiated manner, which legal or constitutional violations are alleged. If this is manifestly lacking, the Court may issue a non-entry decision in simplified proceedings under Art. 108(1) BGG. Under Art. 66(1) BGG, costs may exceptionally be waived.

Bundesrichter Féraud, Präsident,
Gerichtsschreiber Bopp.

Verfahrensbeteiligte
X.________, Beschwerdeführer,

gegen

Staatsanwaltschaft Zürich-Limmat,
Stauffacherstrasse 55, Postfach, 8026 Zürich.

Gegenstand
Haftentlassung,

Beschwerde gegen die Verfügung vom 20. Mai 2010
des Bezirksgerichts Zürich, Haftrichter.
In Erwägung,
dass der Haftrichter des Bezirksgerichts Zürich mit Verfügung vom 20. Mai 2010 ein von X.________ gestelltes Haftentlassungsgesuch abgewiesen hat;
dass X.________ hiergegen Beschwerde in Strafsachen ans Bundesgericht führt;
dass das Bundesgericht davon abgesehen hat, Vernehmlassungen einzuholen;
dass der Beschwerdeführer die angefochtene Verfügung ganz allgemein kritisiert, dabei aber nicht im Einzelnen darlegt, inwiefern die ihr zugrunde liegenden Erwägungen bzw. die Verfügung im Ergebnis rechts- bzw. verfassungswidrig sein soll;
dass die Beschwerde daher den gesetzlichen Formerfordernissen (Art. 42 Abs. 2 sowie Art. 106 Abs. 2 BGG; s. in diesem Zusammenhang BGE 136 I 49 E. 1.4.1 S. 53 und 65 E. 1.3.1 S. 68 mit Hinweisen) nicht zu genügen vermag;
dass demgemäss schon aus diesem Grund auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist;
dass der genannte Mangel offensichtlich ist, weshalb über die Beschwerde im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 BGG entschieden werden kann;
dass von einer Kostenauflage abgesehen werden kann (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
wird erkannt:
