A biocidal product shall be granted authorisation ANprovided the applicant demonstrates that, according to the latest scientific and technical knowledge, and when used as intended:¹
1. no unacceptable effects on humans, animals or the environment are to be expected from it or its residues; and
2. in the case of a wood preservative or a disinfectant: it is sufficiently effective.
²It shall only be authorised for placing on the market for use by the general public if it has none of the properties mentioned in Article 11d .²
