It is prohibited to offer, grant, claim or accept a financial gain or other advantage in exchange for a human blood donation.
The following are not regarded as a financial gain or other advantage:
compensation for any loss of earnings or expenses directly incurred by the donor;
damages for any injury sustained by the donor as a result of the blood donation;
a subsequent symbolic gesture of gratitude.
