The obligor is obliged to render performance only to a person who is the bearer of the instrument and who can show that he is the person in whose name the instrument is registered or the legal successor of such person.
Where the obligor renders performance without such evidence, he is not released from his obligation towards a third party who can demonstrate his entitlement.
