1When this Code comes into force, any provisions of federal civil law which contradict it are repealed.
2In particular, the following are repealed: the Federal Act of 24 December 18741on the Determination and Documentation of Civil Status and Marriage; the Federal Act of 22 June 18812on Personal Capacity to Act; the Federal Act of 14 June 18813on the Code of Obligations.
3The special acts concerning the railways, steamships, the post, telegraph and telephone services, the seizure and compulsory liquidation of railways, the laws relating to factory employment and liability arising from the operation of factories and other enterprises, and all federal laws on matters governed by the Code of Obligations which have been enacted to supplement the Federal Act of 14 June 1881 on the Code of Obligations, remain in force.
