VEHICLE CODE (75 PA.C.S.) - AMEND HANDICAPPED PLATES AND PLACARDS

                                  AN ACT

     HB 1658

     Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
        Statutes, further providing for handicapped plates and
        placards.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  Section 1338(c)(1) of Title 75 of the
     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
      § 1338.  Handicapped plate and placard.
        * * *
        (c)  Physician's statement.--
            (1)  Any person applying for a special plate or parking
        placard for handicapped persons must present a statement,
        certified by a physician licensed to practice in this
        Commonwealth or in a contiguous state, that the handicapped
        person is handicapped as provided in subsection (a).

        Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
