CLARIFYING THE POWERS OF CERTAIN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS
                 Act of Jun. 29, 1976, P.L. 475, No. 121              Cl. 16
                                  AN ACT

     Clarifying the powers of constables, county detectives,
        sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, waterways patrolmen and game
        protectors.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  Constables, county detectives, sheriffs, deputy
     sheriffs, waterways patrolmen and game protectors shall perform
     all those duties authorized or imposed on them by statute.

        Compiler's Note:  Section 4 of Act 49 of 2009 provided that
            section 1 is repealed insofar as it relates to
            constables.
        Section 2.  All rules and regulations limiting the powers of
     constables, county detectives, sheriffs, deputy sheriffs,
     waterways patrolmen and game protectors or suspending any
     statute relating thereto are repealed in so far as they are
     inconsistent herewith.

        Compiler's Note:  Section 4 of Act 49 of 2009 provided that
            section 2 is repealed insofar as it relates to
            constables.
        Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
