502 CMR 2.00 Petitions for adoption, amendment or repeal of regulations

2.01 Scope and Purpose

2.01: Scope and Purpose 502 CMR 2.00 is adopted by the State Fire Marshal pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, § 4 and prescribes the procedures for the submission, consideration and disposition of petitions of interested persons for the adoption, amendment or repeal of regulations.

2.02 Petitions for the Adoption, Amendment or Repeal of Regulations

2.02: Petitions for the Adoption, Amendment or Repeal of Regulations Any interested person may, at any time, petition the State Fire Marshal to adopt, amend or repeal any regulation. The petition shall be addressed to the State Fire Marshal and may be sent by mail or delivered to the followingaddress:State Fire Marshal, P.O. Box 1025, State Road, Stow, MA 01775. All petitions shall be signed by the petitioner or the petitioner’s designee, and shall set forth clearly and concisely the text of the proposed regulation. The petitionmaybe accompanied byanysupporting data, views or arguments.

2.03 Procedures to Handle Petitions for the Adoption, Amendment or Repeal of Regulations

2.03: Procedures to Handle Petitions for the Adoption, Amendment or Repeal of Regulations Upon receipt of a petition for the adoption, amendment or repeal of a regulation the State Fire Marshal shall review the petition within 60 days of receipt thereof and determine if further review or action relative to the petition is warranted.
