249 CMR 6.00 Administrative duties of the board

6.01 Approval of Health Care Facility Affiliations

6.01: Approval of Health Care Facility Affiliations The Board must approve by a majority vote affiliations between health care facilities and podiatric medical training programs. In order to approve an affiliation, the Board must determine, among other things, that the supervision available for training purposes is adequate.

6.02 Investigator's Duties

6.02: Investigator's Duties It shall be the duty of the Board's investigator upon proper written notice, to visit from time to time, the offices of registered, licensed podiatrists to observe if the offices are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. The investigator shall investigate complaints and obtain other information as directed by the Board.

6.03 Board Approval of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine

6.03: Board Approval of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine The Board may establish standards for colleges of podiatric medicine. The Board shall issue a certificate of approval to those colleges of podiatric medicine which have been accredited by the Council on Pediatric Medical Education and shall review such approval in accordance with the M.G.L. c. 112, § 16.

6.04 Discipline

6.04: Discipline (1) The Board may, after written notice and hearing, take disciplinary action against the license of a registered podiatrist for violation of any provision in M.G.L. c. 112, §§ 13 through 22, and §§ 61 through 65B or 249 CMR. (2) The Board may impose civil administrative penalties against individuals engaged in the practice of podiatry without a license pursuant to M.G.L. c. 112, § 65A. (3) Nothing in 249 CMR 6.04 shall be interpreted to prohibit the Board from taking any other action permitted by law.
