Motion GRANTED AND Order filed October 22, 2026.
In The
Fourteenth Court of Appeals
____________
NO. 14-26-01100-CV
____________
IN RE STARCO IMPEX, INC., MOHAMMED DANISHMUND, AND
MUHAMMAD JAVED, Relators
ORIGINAL PROCEEDING
WRIT OF MANDAMUS
151st District Court
Harris County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 2016-42352A
ORDER
Relators Starco Impex, Inc., Mohammed Danishmund, and Muhammad
Javed filed a petition for writ of mandamus asking this court to order the trial court
to vacate (1) the April 15, 2026 order denying relator Starco’s plea to the
jurisdiction; (2) the May 20, 2026 order voiding the May 18, 2026 order granting
2
relators’ plea to the jurisdiction; and (2) the September 14, 2026 order denying
relators’ motion to reconsider their plea to the jurisdiction. Relators also filed a
motion asking this court to stay an October 26, 2026 trial setting pending a
decision on the petition for writ of mandamus.
It appears from the facts stated in the petition and motion that relators’
request for relief requires further consideration and that relators will be prejudiced
unless immediate temporary relief is granted. We therefore GRANT relators’
motion and issue the following order:
We ORDER the October 26, 2026 trial setting in trial court cause number
2016-42352A, STAYED until a final decision by this court on relators’ petition for
writ of mandamus, or until further order of this court.
In addition, the court ORDERS the real parties in interest, Trent Simpson,
Vanessa D. Gilmore, Keaton Forcht, Christopher “Kit” Ashby, Anson Distributing,
Inc., and USA Millennium, LP, to file a response to the petition for writ of
mandamus within 14 days of the date of this order. See Tex. R. App. P. 52.4.
PER CURIAM
Panel Consists of Chief Justice Christopher and Justices Wise and Boatman.
