Court of Appeals, State of Michigan
ORDER
SARAH TARJEFT V JEFFREY FORD
Docket No. 381186
LC No. 17-153334-DS
Andrew J. Lievense
Presiding Judge

Judges
The motion for immediate consideration is GRANTED.
The application for leave to appeal is DENIED AS MOOT. This application seeks review
of an order denying a motion to disqualify Wayne Circuit Judge Lawrence Elassal from presiding over
this matter. While that request was initially denied by Judge Elassal, and then denied again on de novo
review by Chief Judge Edward Ewell, Jr., Judge Elassal has since disqualified himself from the matter.
The application has thus been rendered moot. See Barrow v Detroit Election Comm, 305 Mich App 649,
659; 854 NW2d 489 (2014) (an issue is moot if an event occurs which renders it impossible for this Court
to grant the relief requested, or if ordered, would have no practical effect in the case).
