Docket No. 381350
LC No. 2026-543146-DC

Before the court is defendant-appellant Kelly Lyn Strong’s June 30, 2026, “All-In Renewed
Emergency Motion for Immediate Consideration, Immediate Administrative Stay, and Stay of Return /
Custody Transfer / Contempt Enforcement Pending Appeal.” The motion seeks, among other relief, to
prevent the return of the minor child, ASB, to Denmark.
Over the past six days, defendant has filed numerous motions and supplemental pleadings seeking
substantially the same relief: a stay of the Oakland Circuit Court’s orders directing ASB’s return to
Denmark. Until today’s 87-page filing, defendant provided this Court with no record materials,
documents, or evidence sufficient to evaluate the requested relief.
A party seeking a stay pending appeal must first seek that relief in the trial court. See
MCR 7.209(A)(2) (“A motion for bond or for a stay pending appeal may not be filed in the Court of
Appeals unless such a motion was decided by the trial court.”) (emphasis added). Defendant has not
shown that such a motion was filed and decided in the trial court. That failure precludes the relief she
seeks here. In addition, the requested relief lacks adequate support in the pleadings and materials of record
presently before this Court.
Accordingly, we GRANT defendant’s request for immediate consideration but otherwise DENY
the motion.
