The appellant challenged a 25 July 2002 decision of the Cantonal Compensation Fund concerning supplementary benefits. After the court had set a deadline for the respondent's answer, the appellant notified the court by letter of 26 August 2002 that the appeal was withdrawn. The Tribunal cantonale delle assicurazioni therefore held that the case had become devoid of object, struck it from the roll, and ordered that no fees or costs be levied.
Withdrawal of the appeal; mootness of the proceedings; striking out from the roll and no costs. Where the appellant withdraws the appeal, the dispute loses its object and the court may discontinue the proceeding without a merits review. In such a situation, and absent special circumstances, no court fees or expenses are charged (consid. 1-2).

vista la lettera 26 agosto 2002 della parte ricorrente che comunica il ritiro del ricorso;
rilevato che la causa è divenuta priva di oggetto;
viste le disposizioni della Legge di procedura 6.4.61;
decreta 1. la causa è stralciata dai ruoli;
non si percepiscono né tasse né spese;
intimazione alle parti a sensi ed effetti di legge.
