The case concerns the calculation of social-housing rent and surcharge under the Geneva Housing Act. Whether a child temporarily abroad for study and travel remains part of the common household under LGL Art. 30(3).
The child continues to belong to the common household if the stay abroad is temporary and there is an intention to return to the mother’s home.
Temporary absence for school and tourism does not break the family unit when the personal and factual link to the mother's household is maintained and return is planned.
