In an invalidity insurance appeal, the Federal Court first confirmed that the case remained governed by the former OG because the challenged decision predated the entry into force of the BGG. After denying legal aid as the appeal appeared hopeless, it ordered an advance of CHF 500 and warned that non-payment would result in non-entry. The appellant did not pay within the deadline. The court therefore declined to enter into the appeal and, in line with practice for such non-entry decisions, imposed no court costs.

In Erwägung,
dass B.________ am 25. Oktober 2006 beim Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich ein Gesuch um "Wiedererwägung und Nichtigerklärung" eines Urteils dieses Gerichts vom 31. August 2006 eingereicht und gleichzeitig um Gewährung der unentgeltlichen Prozessführung ersucht hat,
dass das Sozialversicherungsgericht diese Eingabe zuständigkeitshalber dem (damaligen) Eidgenössischen Versicherungsgericht (heute Bundesgericht) weitergeleitet hat,
dass das Bundesgesetz über das Bundesgericht vom 17. Juni 2005 (BGG; SR 173.110) am 1. Januar 2007 in Kraft getreten (AS 2006 1205 und 1243), der angefochtene Entscheid jedoch vorher ergangen ist, weshalb sich das Verfahren noch nach OG richtet (Art. 132 Abs. 1 BGG; BGE 132 V 393 E. 1.2 S. 395),
dass das Verfahren Leistungen der Invalidenversicherung zum Gegenstand hat, weshalb es kostenpflichtig ist (Art. 134 des gemäss Art. 132 BGG hier noch anwendbaren OG, in der Fassung gemäss Ziff. III des Bundesgesetzes vom 16. Dezember 2005 über die Änderung des IVG, in Kraft seit 1. Juli 2006),
dass das Bundesgericht das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege mit Entscheid vom 26. Januar 2007 wegen Aussichtslosigkeit der Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde abgewiesen und B.________ gleichzeitig aufgefordert hat, innert 14 Tagen nach Erhalt dieses Schreibens einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 500.- zu bezahlen verbunden mit der Androhung, dass bei Nichtleistung innert der gesetzten Frist aus diesem Grunde auf die Rechtsvorkehr nicht eingetreten werde,
dass die Verfügung B.________ am 7. Februar 2007 ausgehändigt worden ist,
dass der Kostenvorschuss innert der gesetzten Frist nicht bezahlt worden ist,
dass androhungsgemäss nach Art. 150 Abs. 4 OG zu verfahren ist,

dass - obwohl das Verfahren an sich kostenpflichtig ist - praxisgemäss bei Nichteintretensentscheiden zufolge unterbliebener oder verspäteter Leistung des Vorschusses keine Gerichtskosten erhoben werden,
erkennt das Bundesgericht:
1.
Auf die Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich, dem Sozialamt X.________ und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen zugestellt.
