In a criminal appeal concerning alleged violation of privacy by a photographic device, the appellant informed the Federal Criminal Court by letter that she was withdrawing the appeal. The President therefore ordered the case struck from the docket and held that no judicial costs would be levied. The order was to be notified to the parties and to the Vaud cantonal criminal cassation court.
Withdrawal of an appeal; striking the case from the docket and costs: when the appellant expressly withdraws the appeal, the Federal Court strikes the proceedings from the role without examining the merits; in the absence of special circumstances, no judicial costs are levied (consid. 1).
