Resumo

The Federal Court did not enter into the administrative appeal against the Schwyz driving-licence withdrawal matter because the appellant failed to pay the ordered CHF 1,000 advance costs by the deadline. The court held that no additional grace period had to be granted in this case under the Federal Supreme Court Act. The appellant was ordered to pay the federal court fee of CHF 500.

Where the appellant fails to pay the ordered advance costs within the fixed period, the court may declare the appeal inadmissible; the duty to set an additional grace period does not apply if the statute excludes it. In such a case, the proceedings are terminated by non-entry and the costs are borne by the appellant (consid. 1-2).

Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde gegen den Entscheid des Verwaltungsgerichts des Kantons Schwyz, Kammer III, vom 30. November 2006.

Das Bundesgericht zieht in Erwägung:

Der Beschwerdeführer wurde mit Verfügung vom 8. Januar 2007 aufgefordert, dem Bundesgericht spätestens am 29. Januar 2007 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 1'000.-- einzuzahlen, ansonsten auf die Rechtsvorkehr nicht eingetreten werde. Der Kostenvorschuss wurde nicht geleistet. Da die Pflicht zur Nachfristansetzung gemäss Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG für den vorliegenden Fall nicht gilt (Art. 132 Abs. 1 BGG, e contrario), ist androhungsgemäss zu entscheiden.
2.
Bei diesem Ausgang hat der Beschwerdeführer die Kosten des bundesgerichtlichen Verfahrens zu tragen.

Demnach erkennt das Bundesgericht im Verfahren nach Art. 36a OG:
1.
Auf die Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtsgebühr von Fr. 500.-- wird dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird dem Beschwerdeführer und dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Schwyz, Kammer III, sowie dem Verkehrsamt des Kantons Schwyz, Abt. Massnahmen, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
