X. filed a subsidiary constitutional appeal against a decision of the Vaud cantonal appeal chamber. Before the Federal Court could examine the merits, his lawyer informed the court by letter of 6 May 2010 that the appeal was withdrawn. The President of the First Civil Law Court therefore ordered the case struck off the docket and set court costs at CHF 300, payable by the appellant.
