ricorso in materia civile contro la sentenza emanata il 12 giugno 2007 dalla II Camera civile del Tribunale di appello del Cantone Ticino.

Visto:
che il 12 giugno 2007 la II Camera civile del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino ha confermato la decisione pretorile di respingere la petizione di A.________ tendente alla condanna dell'assicurazione X.________ al pagamento di fr. 81'975.20 oltre interessi, a titolo di indennità giornaliere per malattia;
che contro questa sentenza il 16 agosto 2007 A.________ ha tempestivamente interposto un ricorso in materia civile al Tribunale federale fondato sulla violazione dell'art. 2 CC;
che contestualmente all'impugnativa egli ha chiesto di essere posto al beneficio dell'assistenza e del gratuito patrocinio;
che tale richiesta è stata respinta il 24 ottobre seguente, nonostante l'attestata indigenza del ricorrente, non presentando il gravame possibilità di esito favorevole (cfr. art. 64 LTF);
che il ricorrente è stato pertanto invitato a fornire alla Cassa del Tribunale federale l'importo di fr. 1'500.-- a titolo di garanzia per le spese processuali presunte del ricorso, entro il 19 novembre 2007;
che il 27 novembre 2007 gli è stato assegnato un ulteriore termine non prorogabile, scadente il 12 dicembre 2007, con l'avvertenza che in assenza di pagamento entro tale data il rimedio sarebbe stato dichiarato inammissibile;
che il giorno successivo il legale del ricorrente ha comunicato al Tribunale federale che il suo cliente non avrebbe pagato l'anticipo spese richiesto, senza tuttavia ritirare il ricorso;
che, effettivamente, in tempo utile non è intervenuto alcun versamento;

considerando:

che in queste circostanze il ricorso non può essere vagliato nel merito (art. 62 cpv. 3 LTF);
che, infine, le spese inutili sono sostenute dal ricorrente, che le ha cagionate (art. 66 cpv. 3 LTF), tenuto comunque conto della sua situazione finanziaria (art. 65 cpv. 2 LTF);

per questi motivi, il Presidente pronuncia:
1.
Il ricorso è inammissibile.
2.
Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 300.-- sono poste a carico di A.________.
3.
Comunicazione ai patrocinatori delle parti e alla II Camera civile del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.
