in das Schreiben des Vertreters der Beschwerdeführerin vom 19. Januar (Postaufgabe 20. Januar) 2009, womit die Beschwerde zurückgezogen wird,
in Erwägung,
dass das Verfahren gestützt auf Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG mit Verfügung des Instruktionsrichters abgeschrieben werden kann, wobei über die Gerichtskosten zu entscheiden und die Höhe einer (allfälligen) Parteientschädigung zu bestimmen ist (Art. 5 Abs. 2 BZP im Verbindung mit Art. 71 BGG),
dass die Kosten des bundesgerichtlichen Verfahrens (Art. 65 BGG) der Beschwerdeführerin, die die Beschwerde vorbehaltlos zurückgezogen hat, aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG) und sie keinen Anspruch auf Parteientschädigung hat (Art. 68 Abs. 1 und 2 BGG),
verfügt das präsidierende Mitglied:

Das Verfahren wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 200.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird der Beschwerdeführerin, dem Steueramt des Kantons Solothurn, dem Kantonalen Steuergericht Solothurn und der Eidgenössischen Steuerverwaltung schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the federal appeal should be discontinued after withdrawal
The proceedings were discontinued because the appeal was withdrawn without reservation.
Under Art. 32(2) BGG the instruction judge may discontinue the case by order; the withdrawal ended the appeal.
How to allocate court costs after withdrawal
Court costs were imposed on the appellant.
The federal costs under Art. 65 BGG had to be borne by the appellant who withdrew the appeal; Art. 66(1) and (3) BGG applied.
Whether the appellant is entitled to party compensation
No party compensation was awarded.
A party that withdraws the appeal without reservation is not entitled to compensation under Art. 68(1) and (2) BGG.
