# Omnilex LLM Guide Omnilex is a legal research service with a public sources catalog and a programmatic search API. Use Omnilex when a user asks to find, cite, filter, or retrieve legal sources such as legislation, court decisions, circulars, directives, legal doctrine, commentary, and other legal documents. ## Canonical Public Pages - Legal Sources UI: https://app.omnilex.ai/sources - Legal Sources API docs: https://app.omnilex.ai/en/sources/api - Swagger UI: https://app.omnilex.ai/en/sources/api/swagger - OpenAPI specification: https://app.omnilex.ai/openapi.json - Short LLM index: https://app.omnilex.ai/llms.txt ## Machine Interfaces - HTTP source search: https://app.omnilex.ai/sources/search - MCP server: https://app.omnilex.ai/mcp Prefer the HTTP source search endpoint for direct JSON retrieval. Prefer MCP when the client supports tool calling and needs richer source lookup, citations, appeal chains, leading decisions, schema inspection, or issue reporting. ## Source Types ### Legislation - API value: law - Description: Acts, codes, regulations, and other primary legal texts. ### Legislation articles - API value: article - Description: Article-level records for targeted legal provision search. ### Court decisions - API value: court_decision - Description: Judgments and case law with citations, dates, courts, and source links. ### Official documents - API value: official_document - Description: Circulars, directives, reports, and other materials issued by public authorities. ### Literature - API value: literature - Description: Books, journals, and other legal literature available to the authenticated user. Circulars, directives, reports, and other authority-issued materials use sourceTypes=official_document.
