AGRICULTURE DAY AND WEEK DESIGNATION ACT

                                  AN ACT

     Providing for the observance of "Pennsylvania Agriculture Day"
        and "Pennsylvania Agriculture Week."

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

     Section 1.  Short title.
        This act shall be known and may be cited as the Agriculture
     Day and Week Designation Act.
     Section 2.  Designation.
        (a)  General rule.--Except as set forth in subsection (b),
     the following apply:
            (1)  The first day of spring is designated "Pennsylvania
        Agriculture Day."
            (2)  The first week of spring is designated "Pennsylvania
        Agriculture Week."
        (b)  Exception.--If "National Agriculture Day" or "National
     Agriculture Week" are observed other than on the first day of
     spring or during the first week of spring, the observance of
     "Pennsylvania Agriculture Day" and "Pennsylvania Agriculture
     Week" shall coincide with the day and week selected for the
     national observance.
     Section 3.  Proclamation by Governor.
        The Governor shall issue a proclamation each year calling
     upon the people of this Commonwealth to recognize "Pennsylvania
     Agriculture Day" and "Pennsylvania Agriculture Week."
     Section 4.  Effective date.
        This act shall take effect immediately.
