                                  AN ACT

Requiring operators, breakers, washeries or preparation plants
of anthracite coal mines to report shipments to the
Department of Mines. (Title amended Apr. 4, 1956, 1955
        P.L.1396, No.453)

Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That "anthracite," as used
herein, means coal from the anthracite coal fields of
     Pennsylvania.
"Destinations," as used herein, means points to which
anthracite is shipped by rail, truck, or otherwise, and sold for
     consumption.
Section 2. All operators, breakers, washeries or preparation
plants of anthracite coal mines shall report to the Department
of Mines, within fifteen days after the close of each month,
shipments of anthracite for preceding months to destinations,
such destinations to include each state, each province of
Canada, and such subdivisions thereof, as the department may
     designate.
        (2 amended Apr. 4, 1956, 1955 P.L.1396, No.453)
Section 3. When anthracite is shipped to docks, piers, or
other points for reconsignment, reports to the Department of
Mines, under this act, shall show only destinations to which
said anthracite was reconsigned for consumption.
Section 4. When an operator sells through a wholesaler, it
shall be obligatory on such operator to require such wholesaler

that will enable said operator to comply in all respects with
     the requirements of this act.
Section 5. It being the sole intent of this act to compile
data for the purpose of showing the trend of anthracite
consumption and anthracite markets, the Department of Mines, by
publication or otherwise, shall disclose only totals for the
industry, and not separately the figures of any one operator or
     any group of operators.
Section 6. Any operator failing to comply with the
provisions of this act shall, upon summary conviction, be
sentenced to pay a fine of not more than one hundred dollars
     ($100).
