NAC Chapter 381 — State Museums

NAC 381.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms defined in NAC 381.020, 381.030 and 381.040 have the meanings ascribed to them in those sections.

NAC 381.020 “Administrator” defined.

“Administrator” means the Administrator of the Division.

NAC 381.030 “Department” defined.

“Department” means the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.

“Division” means the Division of Museums and History of the Department.

NAC 381.050 Nevada State Railroad Museum: Requirements for use and operation of certain equipment.

1. Each Nevada State Railroad Museum within the Division shall preserve the safety of the general public by ensuring the safe use and operation of historic museum railroad equipment at the Museum.

2. Each crew member for a Nevada State Railroad Museum within the Division who operates museum railroad equipment must:

(a) Be a staff member or volunteer of the Museum;

(b) Be issued a set of Safety Rules and General Operating Rules for the use and operation of historic museum railroad equipment;

(c) Satisfactorily complete safety and operational rule training and successfully pass a test administered by the Museum’s Director or the designee of the Museum’s Director before beginning train service; and

(d) Attend an annual safety meeting.

NAC 381.060 Nevada State Railroad Museum: Review and updating of Safety Rules and General Operating Rules for certain equipment.

The Administrator or the designee of the Administrator will review on an annual basis the Safety Rules and General Operating Rules for the use and operation of historic museum railroad equipment. The Rules must be updated to reflect changes in operations or regulations imposed by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada or the Federal Railroad Administration. The Administrator is hereby designated as the official authority to make changes to the Safety Rules and General Operating Rules .
