2 CAR § 196-101. Definitions.

As used in this part, "special cattle sale" means:

(1) Any sale of cattle at an approved Arkansas cattle market held on any day that is not a regular sale day; or

(2) Any sale of one hundred (100) head or more of test eligible cows originating from out of state in one (1) consignment in any sale, including those held on a regular sale day, at any approved Arkansas cattle market.

2 CAR § 196-102. Notice requirement.

The market owner is only required to give written notice of a special cattle sale held at an approved market on any day that is not a regular sale day to the State Veterinarian a minimum of ten (10) working days prior to the special cattle sale.

2 CAR § 196-103 Identification requirements {#sec-2-car-196-103 omnilex-key=us-ar-regs-official--title-2-part-196--2 CAR § 196-103}

2 CAR § 196-103. Identification requirements.

(a) All intact bovine over eighteen (18) months of age, all dairy cattle of any age including dairy steers, and all rodeo (exhibition) cattle including steers (dogging and team roping cattle) shall be identified with official ID at regular sales.

(b) The IDs must be recorded and kept for five (5) years and also must be sent to the Arkansas Board of Animal Health.

(c) Also, any special cattle sales that are selling cattle for interstate movement must comply with the above identification requirements.

(d) All cattle that are sold by private treaty that do not go into interstate movement are exempt from the identification requirement.
