20 Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board

Ala. Admin. Code r. 20-X-32-.01 Testing of Purchases Made by the Board

Testing of random purchases made by the board shall be conducted by either; (a) an independent testing laboratory that is accredited by a third-party accrediting body as a competent testing laboratory pursuant to ISO (International Organization for Standardization)/IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 17025:2017 of the International Organization for Standardization; or (b) the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, who may assist in the identification of any cannabinoid(s) that may be present in random purchases made by the board.

Ala. Admin. Code r. 20-X-32-.02 Certificate of Analysis

The certificate of analysis shall contain a statement that the testing laboratory has received, and will retain, documentation from the product submitter affirming that the material submitted for testing was not created by a chemical synthesis, modification or chemical conversion from another cannabinoid utilizing non-cannabis materials.

Ala. Admin. Code r. 20-X-32-.03 Additives to Consumable Hemp Products

Consumable Hemp Products shall not contain any intoxicating substances or intoxicating additives other than cannabinoids.

Ala. Admin. Code r. 20-X-32-.04 Serving Sizes and Container Sizes

(1) Consumable hemp beverages shall not have more than one serving in a single container. A beverage serving size shall not exceed 12 fluid ounces or 10 milligrams of total THC.

(2) For any topical, sublingual or other consumable hemp product not addressed in Section 28-12-23(a)(1), Code of Alabama 1975, one container of a consumable hemp product may not contain more than 40 milligrams of total THC.

(3) All edible consumable hemp products shall be individually wrapped in a single serve packaging. Each single serve packaging shall not exceed 10 milligrams of total THC. One carton may not contain more than 40 milligrams of total THC.
