By order of January 2, 2026, we remanded this case to the Court of Appeals to
consider whether the Lapeer Circuit Court erroneously issued a bench warrant for
defendant’s arrest after the Michigan Department of Corrections had discharged him. On
order of the Court, the Court of Appeals order on remand having been issued on January
15, 2026, the application for leave to appeal the June 2, 2025 judgment of the Court of
Appeals is again considered. We DIRECT plaintiff to answer the application for leave to
appeal within 28 days after the date of this order.
The application for leave to appeal remains pending.
