At its 3 June 1993 sitting, the National Council dealt with Swisslex insurance matters. It approved without opposition the amendments to the Insurance Supervision Act and to the Act on Guarantees by Foreign Insurance Companies, each after article-by-article discussion and on the commission's proposal to follow the Council of States. It also unanimously referred Motion 93.3195, calling for a prompt revision of tariff control in motor vehicle liability insurance, independently of the broader insurance supervision reform.
Swisslex insurance legislation; parliamentary approval and referral of motions. Where the chamber enters into the bill without opposition and, after article-by-article discussion, adopts the commission's proposal in the vote on the whole, the draft is approved and transmitted to the other chamber. A motion may be referred unanimously where the chamber resolves to instruct the Federal Council to submit the requested legislative revision; no additional substantive reasoning is required beyond acceptance of the commission's proposal and the unanimous vote (cf. session record).
