The claimant appealed a 22 January 2001 decision of the Cantonal Compensation Fund concerning supplementary benefits. The fund informed the court that, after inquiries with the cantonal aliens office, the basis of the appeal had fallen away and a new benefits decision with calculation sheet would be issued. The claimant then withdrew the appeal in writing. The single judge of the Ticino Insurance Court therefore found the case devoid of object and ordered it struck from the docket without court fees or costs.
Art. 3a cpv. 1 Legge di procedura per i ricorsi al Tribunale cantonale delle assicurazioni in materia di assicurazioni sociali; withdrawal of the appeal and loss of subject matter render the proceedings moot. If the administrative authority may reconsider the challenged decision before filing its response and the appellant withdraws the appeal, the court strikes the case from the roll for lack of object; no fees or costs are levied absent further disposition.

visto il ricorso del 24 gennaio 2001 interposto da
contro
la decisione del 22 gennaio 2001 emanata da
Cassa cant. di compensazione, 6501 Bellinzona 1 Caselle,
in materia di prestazioni complementari
letti ed esaminati gli atti;
visto in particolare lo scritto 26 febbraio 2001 della parte convenuta del seguente tenore:
" Da accertamenti effettuati tramite l'Ufficio cantonale degli stranieri, abbiamo potuto appurare che i presupposti alla base del ricorso sono venuti meno e pertanto, a istruttoria conclusa, la nostra Cassa provvederà ad emettere la decisione di prestazione complementare con relativa tabella di calcolo". (cfr. Doc. _);
ricordato che, ai sensi dell'art. 3/a cpv. 1 della Legge di procedura per i ricorsi al Tribunale cantonale delle assicurazioni in materia di assicurazioni sociali, l'Autorità amministrativa può, fino all'invio della sua risposta, riesaminare la decisione impugnata;
ritenuto che comunque anche il ricorrente, con scritto 6 marzo 2001 (cfr. Doc. _), ha comunicato il ritiro del ricorso;
rilevato che di conseguenza il gravame è divenuto privo di oggetto;
decreta 1. il ricorso di cui sopra è stralciato dai ruoli;
non si percepiscono né tasse né spese;
intimazione alle parti a sensi ed effetti di legge.
