The appellant challenged a 15 February 2003 decision of the Ufficio esazione e condoni. On 9 December 2003 the office informed the court that the appellant had paid the contraventions that were the subject of the appeal. The President of the Pretura penale therefore ordered the case struck from the docket as moot and decided that no fees or costs would be charged.
Mootness; appeal struck out where the contested sanctions have been satisfied during the proceedings. If the respondent authority informs the court that the amounts at issue have been paid, the appeal loses its object and is removed from the docket; in such circumstances, the court may waive fees and costs.
