The appellants withdrew their appeal against the St. Gallen Insurance Court judgment in a health insurance dispute. The Federal Supreme Court therefore struck the case off the roll without addressing the merits. It also waived court costs under the Federal Supreme Court Act. The order was notified to the parties, the cantonal insurance court, and the Federal Office of Public Health.
Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG in connection with Art. 71 BGG and Art. 73 Abs. 1 BZP; withdrawal of the appeal: a withdrawn appeal is removed from the docket and the Federal Supreme Court does not examine the merits. Where the appeal is manifestly unpromising and is withdrawn, the court may discontinue the proceedings by order. Under Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG, court costs may be waived, in particular where the circumstances justify departing from the ordinary cost rule.

dass die - auch unter Berücksichtigung der Eingabe vom 20. Mai 2009 dem Art. 42 Abs. 2 BGG offensichtlich nicht genügende und daher chancenlose - Beschwerde gemäss Art. 71 BGG in Verbindung mit Art. 73 Abs. 1 BZP zufolge Rückzuges im Verfahren nach Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG abzuschreiben ist,
dass in Anwendung von Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird,
verfügt der Präsident:

Das Verfahren wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien, dem Versicherungsgericht des Kantons St. Gallen und dem Bundesamt für Gesundheit schriftlich mitgeteilt.
