The appellant withdrew the appeal against the Federal Administrative Court's judgment of 20 August 2010. The Federal Supreme Court therefore discontinued the proceedings and ordered no court costs. The order was communicated to the parties, the Federal Administrative Court, and the Federal Office for Social Insurance.

The court issues a procedural order discontinuing the proceedings without examination of the merits. Under Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG, costs may be waived, in particular where the circumstances so justify; the withdrawal of the appeal alone does not preclude a cost waiver.

dass die Beschwerde gemäss Art. 71 BGG in Verbindung mit Art. 73 Abs. 1 BZP im Verfahren nach Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG abzuschreiben ist,
dass in Anwendung von Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird,
verfügt der Einzelrichter:

Das Verfahren wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien, dem Bundesverwaltungsgericht, Abteilung III, und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
