The appellant challenged a cantonal social insurance decision before the Federal Supreme Court. After his request for free legal aid was refused as hopeless, he was ordered to pay a cost advance and later given an additional deadline, with the warning that the appeal would otherwise not be entered into. He still did not pay. The President therefore issued a simplified non-entry decision and imposed court costs of CHF 300 on the appellant.
Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG, Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG; non-payment of the court advance after expiry of the additional deadline leads to non-entry on the appeal in simplified proceedings. The filing of an unsuccessful request for free legal aid does not alter the consequence if the advance is not paid within the granted period. The appellant is liable for court costs pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 and 3 BGG.

Nach Einsicht
in die Beschwerde vom 24. Mai 2012 (elektronische Signatur) gegen den Entscheid des Versicherungsgerichts des Kantons St. Gallen vom 16. April 2012,
in die Verfügung vom 13. Juli 2012, mit welcher das Gesuch des M.________ um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege infolge Aussichtslosigkeit abgewiesen und eine Frist zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses gesetzt wurde,
in die Verfügung vom 7. September 2012, mit welcher M.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses innert einer Nachfrist bis zum 18. September 2012 verpflichtet wurde, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde,
in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer den Vorschuss auch innerhalb der Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat,
dass deshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und der Beschwerdeführer nach Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG kostenpflichtig wird,
erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 300.- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Versicherungsgericht des Kantons St. Gallen und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.

No. Because the appellant did not pay the required advance even within the extended deadline, the Court refused to enter into the appeal under the Federal Supreme Court Act.
Failure to pay the advance within the set additional time limit triggers non-entry in simplified proceedings.
