The appellant challenged an order of the Zurich Cantonal Court's III Criminal Chamber, but the Federal Supreme Court had previously ordered an advance on costs of CHF 1,000 and warned that failure to pay would lead to non-entry. The appellant did not pay within the deadline or the statutory grace period. The single judge therefore did not enter into the complaint under Art. 108 BGG and imposed court costs of CHF 800 on the appellant under Art. 66(1) BGG.
Art. 108 BGG; non-payment of the required advance on costs after expiry of the time limit and grace period leads to non-entry when the party has been expressly warned of this consequence. Where the appeal is not entered into for this reason, the unsuccessful appellant bears the court costs pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG; the summary procedure may be used for such a decision (consid. 1-2).

Der Einzelrichter zieht in Erwägung:

Dem Beschwerdeführer wurden mit Verfügungen vom 4. und 26. April 2013 eine Frist und die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Nachfrist angesetzt, um dem Bundesgericht spätestens am 10. Mai 2013 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 1'000.-- einzuzahlen, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde. Der Vorschuss wurde innert Frist nicht bezahlt. Auf die Beschwerde ist androhungsgemäss im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Demnach erkennt der Einzelrichter:
1.
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, III. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
